The Advancing Guitarist by Mick Goodrick is such a legendary guitar book. It offers a lifetime of ideas for us guitarists to apply in the practice room. One of the first topics covered is playing over modal vamps. The book at this point shows its age by suggesting to get your tape recorder out to record the vamps! For my own and others’ practice I’ve made the 7 vamps which you can download below.
